WELCOME

The Ecole Française de Battambang is an International French School in Battambang Cambodia, which started in October 2012.  The school is international and welcomes children from various nationalities.  Its activities are supported by the Embassy of France in Cambodia and by the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

EFB is located 3.7 kms (7 minute drive) from the center of Battambang town (see map under Contact Us), in the compound of the Cambodian NGO Ptea Teuk Dong, in a green environment.   The EFB classrooms are contiguous to each other in a private space within the compound.

Children 3 to 6 years old develop in a Montessori classroom that adheres to international standards and best practices of the Montessori method.  We invite you to learn about it on “The Montessori Classroom“.

Our students from 6 to 11 years old continue their primary education using the proven official French Government distance education programme, CNED.
If there are enough secondary school students (11 to 15 years old) wishing to continue their studies at the EFB, a class can be started using the CNED as teaching tool.

Please contact us for more information.

In addition to the regular classes, EFB organizes optional extra-curricular activities.  These activities are open in priority to EFB students and, if space allows, to other children of the community.

EFB proposes optional extracurricular activities.  Depending on the number of interested students,  EFB can organize language courses in khmer, english, or chinese, music lessons (piano, violin), or art.  Other activities can be developed and offered based on parents’ interest and support.  Parents are invited to lead extra-curricular activities in their areas of expertise.

L’Ecole Française de Battambang, Cambodia, is dedicated to academic excellence, is child centered and focused on educating the whole child.

The EFB works closely and effectively with the Embassy of France in Cambodia and with the French Institute of Cambodia (IFC), both in Phnom Penh and Battambang, where children can go to the IFC library to read and take out books.

EFB also supports development activities in the education sector in Battambang: training of Cambodian early childhood educators in Montessori techniques and a scholarship programme for children of underprivileged Cambodian families.
