English

Learning English at EFB is an integral part of the French curriculum. English is taught for 1.5 hours per week in preschool, 4.5 hours in primary school, and 4 hours in middle school.

Students reach A2 level at the end of primary school and B1 level at the end of middle school. Students who continue their studies at a French high school abroad will reach B2 level in their final year of high school, with the skills required to take the IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

English instruction begins in the second year of kindergarten. Learning focuses on oral language and exposure to linguistic diversity. In primary school, students gradually progress to reading and writing and, in addition to English classes, take other subjects in English (sports, art, or science) according to the EMILE approach (Content and Language Integrated Learning).

In middle school, English language learning is further developed across all oral and written skills and practice through role-playing games.
