Return to school at the Ecole Française de Battambang this week after a fantastic activity program at the circus Phare Ponleu Selpak: thank you to all the children, specially the students of EFB, for their participation in this rich week of activities that ended with a show, very appreciated by all the parents who came to applaud them!
To celebrate the Cambodian Water Festival (Bon Om Tuk), the students of the Ecole Française de Battambang mixed their week-project dedicated to recycling with the making of traditional Khmer lotuses.
A great opportunity for our eco-creative apprentices to enjoy an artistic workshop, to bring home the result of their colorful work and to welcome a week of deserved holidays!
Since 2013, the Trophées des Français de l’Etranger have been organized to promote and reward institutions that actively work in social, humanitarian, cultural… fields.
Thanks to their growing success, on December 6th 2018, in Singapore, will stand first edition of the Trophées d’Asie.
The EFB that is well established in the local life of Battambang since 2012, that is growing year after year and that has lots of wonderful projects, could not miss this great opportunity to present the work of its team and of your children.
And today, we are proud to share with you a first victory: the French School of Battambang, recognized for the quality of its teaching, is among the 5 finalists of these prestigious Trophées.
It’s official, in 2019, EFB will leave the Ptea Teuk Dong precinct to move into its new premises, larger, more comfortable and closer to the city center (1.6 km from Psar Nat)!
It is therefore in an ideal environment, closed and green, that the French School of Battambang will be able to accommodate its 2 classes of Montessori kindergartens as well as 30 to 50 pupils of primary and secondary school.
Children will also enjoy a beautiful library / media library, dedicated language and music rooms, a large canteen and a private sports court.
Architects are working on the project… to be discovered very soon!
On Monday 11/12/2018, the French School of Battambang had the great honor and pleasure to welcom Guillaume Narjollet, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Action and Director of the French Institute of Cambodia, but also Valentine Gigaudaut, Cooperation Manager for French at the Embassy of France in Cambodia.
We are delighted to have been able to show them our structure and to have once again exchanged with this historic partner whose support is so precious to us, especially in this unprecedented phase of development!
Children love Battambang. They appreciate the green countryside but also its atmosphere.
However, all of them are not used to browse their environment, taking the time to observe and understand it.
It is therefore equiped with notebooks, sketchbooks, pencils, cameras and audio / video recorders that our valiant elementary and high school students from the French School of Battambang went to explore our beautiful city, visiting the monuments and key places, walking the streets to analyze the diversity of landscapes and ways of living.
Then they made a beautiful visual and sound exhibition that the parents had great pleasure to discover, amazed by what the children saw and by the way they look at their environment….
In this back-to-school, the French Battambang School had the great pleasure to welcome 41 students!
Thus EFB now counts 24 children in its Montessori class (3 – 6 years) and 17 students in elementary and high school classes.
To accompany these young students, the school provided each class with a teacher and an assistant (specialized in FLE), and even two assistants for the Montessori class. Two English and Khmer teachers also intervene almost daily to further enrich general education.
It is therefore under the best auspices that we opened this new year which will be marked by a real organizational and educational transition since the school already aims to open a second Montessori class in September 2019 and develop new options to further improve the quality of the education we provide.
